When Art isn’t fixing leaky taps for us, he’s plucking the strings of his bass guitar, and he’s going to be playing this weekend at Whistler’s First Local Music Festival. It should really be called the Art Festival, though, because Art will take the stage with four different bands.

Northern Ignition (that’s Art on the left), won “Be the Best, Play the Fest” that got them a coveted place on stage at Pemberton’s Music Festival this past summer.

Northern Ignition will be on stage at the Village Square at 1pm on Saturday. Art will also be playing at 3:30 at the Town Plaza with The Funky Snow Monkeys, and at 4:30 with Lozen. Then again on Sunday at 1:30 with Susan Holden and the Groove Section. That’s also at the Town Plaza.

There are free shows Saturday and Sunday afternoons at the Town Plaza gazebo and Village Square stage, six bands at pubs and bars during the evenings, and four acts at the Whistler Farmer’s Market in the Upper Village on Sunday.
