• Q. Do you charge resort fees?

    A.

No, we do not charge resort fees. As a general rule we strongly disagree with nickel and diming guests with petty charges for every last thing. The nightly rates listed are subject to 15% tax. There are no other resort fees, cleaning fees, or extra charges. What you see is what you get. The only exception is with shorter stays of 3 nights or less duration, we may at our discretion charge a cleaning fee.

  • Q. If the hot water tank blows in the middle of the night, can I call you?

    A.

Yes. When we say we are on call 24/7 we mean it. At night our phones are charging on the bedside table. We manage a group of luxury homes and if there is an emergency we want to know immediately. And if a guest is in distress or needs emergency assistance, we want to help. We all live in Whistler and are minutes away. But don’t feel sorry for us, we get to live in Whistler.

  • Q. How much do you recommend tipping a driver, ski instructor, restaurant server?

    A.

As a general rule, if you are happy with the service, 15%. Whistler is a pricey place to live and wages are relatively low, particularly for front line staff. Of course, no one is forced to live here, but gratuities help augment their income and they are greatly appreciated.

  • Q. How can there be no fee for your service?

    A.

We do it for the love of it! Well, partly that. Our business is booking accommodation, activities and transportation. Companies we do business with reward us for bringing them volume.

  • Q. How does a private charter differ from a shuttle?

    A.

With a private charter your driver is waiting at airport arrivals to greet you. With a private charter the schedule is yours. If time permits, we offer approximately 30 minutes of stopping, complimentary, to do things like pick up groceries, get a snack or go to the bathroom. With a shuttle you wait for the next scheduled service, generally leaving every two hours. The shuttle has a set route and after a number of pick ups and drop offs, you arrive at your accommodation. Can you say “milk route”. You may need to transfer buses in Whistler in order to get dropped off at your door. Visit our Whistler ground transportation info for more details.

  • Q. We want to ski on our departure day. Can we get a late checkout?

    A.

If you have booked a Whistler Wired Accommodation, we will make every effort to accommodate a late checkout. It depends on the date of the next booking and on the availability of our cleaning team. In general, a late checkout cannot be guaranteed until 24 hours prior to your scheduled checkout time. When possible, we can provide a noon checkout at no additional charge. Noon to 2 p.m., $100 per hour; 2 to 4 p.m., half-day charge; 4 p.m. and later, full day charge.

  • Q. Do you have experience booking company trips?

    A.

Yes, we have booked many company retreats, meetings and incentive trips. The same principles of good service that apply to booking a family’s trip, apply to booking a company trip. Learn more our Whistler corporate travel services.

  • Q. Do I have to book a package? What if I just need an airport transfer or something?

    A.

You do not have to book an entire package (though we recommend it). We are happy to arrange your accommodation only or just a one-off airport transfer.

  • Q. How can I have confidence you are not an internet scam?

    A.

We are licensed by Consumer Protection BC and are members of the Chamber of Commerce. We have an office in Whistler Village.

  • Q. I really enjoy planning my holiday. Why should I book with Whistler Wired?

    A.

Some guests prefer to do as little as possible, other guests prefer to be very involved every step of the way. If you fall into the latter group, think of us as your personal shopper to help navigate you through the options. We give you information and feedback, you decide what you want.

  • Q. Do you have an office in Whistler village?

    A.

Yes, front and centre. Vew our Whistler office location. We are beside the Whistler Conference Centre, right above RBC bank. We are steps away from the lifts if you need us. We’ve driven a few guests to the clinic, picked up tired tykes, and advanced cash when a debit card wasn’t working.

  • Q. Whistler Wired. It sounds like you sell the internet or something. Why did you choose this name?

    A.

Five reasons: “Wired” as in connected to Whistler and all it has to offer; “Wired” as in energized, full of life; “Wired” as in the latest technology (Or maybe that would be “Wireless.” Oh, well.); it’s unique – , It’s cool.

  • Q. I just want someone to keep an eye on my Whistler property. Can you help?

    A.

    A.

  • Q. What is the advantage of booking ski/snowboard lessons through Whistler Wired?

    A.

We are one of the largest official booking agents for ski and snowboard lessons. The principals of Whistler Wired are both former ski instructors, and we know the instructors well. Heck, we party with them. We can recommend a specific private instructor to suit you. And we wait on hold so you don’t have to. Get more information about Whistler Blackcomb’s Adult Ski & Snowboard School or Kids Ski & Snowboard School

  • Q. I want my kids to get some very focused ski instruction, not just ski around and have fun. Can you help?

    A.

Yes. We work regularly with the top ski/snowboard instructors and can arrange a specific instructor for that. We let the instructor know what to expect in advance so they can mentally prepare and maximize your experience. The same goes for the opposite. That is, if it’s all about fun, we know who to call.

  • Q. Can you help with restaurant suggestions/ reservations?

    A.

Yes, of course. We have a list of dining options but let us know what you are thinking and we’ll offer suggestions. We can make the reservation for you.

  • Q. I hear you have the first Mauck2 limovan in Canada. Can you tell me more?

    A.

Okay, maybe not a “frequently asked question,” but we want to brag. New for the 2011 winter season, we’ll be providing the first http://mauck2.com/ in Canada. It is a customized limovan specifically outfitted to transfer a maximum of 10 guests in extreme luxury. And it’s cool.

  • Q. Can you be my wedding planner?

    A.

No. Kidding. Well, sort of. We can help arrange accommodation, transportation, activitiesand venues. However, important details like ensuring the bride’s veil is well positioned are best left to the bridal experts. Also, bridezillas scare us. We highly recommend Roxanne at Celebrate. www.celebrateevents.ca

  • Q. Does Whistler have much to offer non-skiers?

    A.

Yes, an amazing array of activities. Even if you don’t ski, it’s great to breathe the crisp mountain air, read a book by the fire and do a little shopping. See our activities for a complete list.
