Distillery Tours

Whistler's own distillery, every spirit on the tasting bar and a ride there and back

Year round · Function Junction, Friday and Saturday evenings

Montis Distilling in Function Junction is Whistler's first and only distillery, making gin, vodka and whisky from a small industrial unit ten minutes south of the Village. Whistler Valley Tours and Charters runs the tour that gets you there and, more to the point, gets you back: two hours including pickup, a guided walk through the production floor, tastings of everything currently bottled and charcuterie from Picnic Whistler alongside.

It runs on Friday and Saturday evenings at 5:30pm, with custom times available for private groups, and capacity is small enough that it is worth booking as soon as your dates are fixed.

Stills, tastings and a ride home

The minibus collects you from your accommodation in greater Whistler and heads to Function Junction, the light-industrial neighbourhood that has quietly become the town's craft district. At Montis the tour covers how the spirits are made, from botanicals and mash to the copper stills and the barrels, and why the water matters.

Then the tasting: every spirit the distillery currently produces, poured and explained, with artisanal cheese and cured meats from Picnic Whistler to go with them. Bottles are available to take home. The bus brings you back to your door afterwards.

Private and custom-timed tours can be arranged for groups; ask when you book. This is a nineteen-and-over tour and ID is checked.
