Tennis and Pickleball

Heated indoor courts at the Racket Club, clinics and drop-in play, and free park courts across the valley

Year round · Whistler Racket Club and municipal parks

Tennis in Whistler comes in two forms. The Whistler Racket Club has the valley's only heated indoor courts, six for tennis and fourteen for pickleball across indoor and outdoor, with coaching, clinics, camps and drop-in play through the year. And the municipality maintains more than two dozen free outdoor courts in parks around town, first come first served, for anyone with a racket and a can of balls.

Rackets can be arranged through the club if you have not travelled with one. Court bookings at the club open three days ahead for non-members, so a session on a specific day is worth reserving as soon as you arrive.

The Racket Club and the park courts

The Whistler Racket Club sits on Northlands Boulevard near the Village, with three indoor and three outdoor tennis courts and ten indoor and four outdoor pickleball courts, all hard surface. Court rental, open play and drop-in sessions run daily, and the coaching staff, certified by Tennis Canada and Pickleball Canada, offer private lessons, clinics and junior programmes including summer and spring-break camps. Book lessons two to three weeks ahead in busy periods.

Visitors set up a free online account and sign a waiver, then book courts up to three days in advance. The front desk is open 9am to 5pm and the courts until 9:30pm, and the indoor courts are heated, which makes this a year-round option and a useful one on a wet afternoon.

The free public courts are run by the Resort Municipality of Whistler and dotted through the neighbourhoods, including Cheakamus Crossing and Alpha Lake Park, with more in the parks north and south of the Village. They are unlit and unbooked: turn up, wait your turn if someone is on, and play.
