Off-Road Buggy Tours

Side-by-side buggies, creek crossings and forest trails you drive yourself

Summer · Sea to Sky backcountry

If an ATV feels like too much machine and a Jeep tour not enough, the buggy is the answer. Side-by-side seating, a roll cage, a steering wheel and pedals instead of handlebars: it drives like a small car built for places cars cannot go, which makes it the easiest off-road tour in Whistler to pick up on the day.

The Odyssey Off-Road Buggy Tour from Canadian Wilderness Adventures is a three-hour loop through Sea to Sky forest, with creek crossings, boulder sections and viewpoints along the way. Two-seat and four-seat buggies mean families can ride together with one adult at the wheel.

Forest, creeks and boulders at your own pace

After the shuttle to the trailhead and a training session, the convoy follows the guide onto mountain roads and then into the trails proper. The buggies are quick when you want them to be and forgiving when you do not, so first-timers settle in within a few minutes. Expect water crossings, a few rocky sections to pick a line through and regular stops for photos and wildlife.

Bears, deer and grouse are common sightings in the forest here. The guide leads, sets the pace for the slowest driver and keeps the group together, so nobody is left choosing between keeping up and enjoying the view.

Four-seat buggies are limited in number, so book early if you need one. A maximum of two adults can share the driving in a four-seater.
